Kirriemuir

Kirriemuir offers an admirable and highly enjoyable heathland/parkland layout, the perfect length for the entire day’s golf. The contours of each hole and arrangement of the course as a whole make for an undiminished golfing encounter.

Avenues of woods, gorse and broom surround lush, undulating fairways with greens that are impeccable and true. The views, particularly from the 4th hole with Lochnagar in the distance, are inspiring.

Like many of the great courses, Kirriemuir’s best is reserved for the finish. The 17th and 18th are two fantastic holes. The 17th a 180yds, par 3 which is guarded by two majestic trees both left and right, this hole lives up to its name “Braids Gem”.

The 18th is a difficult par 4, it is uphill with a large oak tree blocking the right half of the fairway. The approach shot must be either be carried over the large bunkered gully or laid up short of this troublesome hazard.

At the foot of the splendid Angus glens, Kirriemuir is "The Gateway to the Glens", and where a charming golf experience awaits. This is a true James Braid gem encompassing both golfing challenge and scenic splendour
