This much respected country house has since been a very prominent hotel in the heart of Scotland since 1945. Holding fond memories for the oldest generations and regarded as a second home to our guests for many years, the Lands of Loyal Hotel offers a tranquil haven of calm and relaxation in a hectic world.
Modelled on one of the magnificent lounges from the famous steamship "Mauritania", the great hall of the Lands of Loyal Hotel with its grand log fire has warmed, welcomed and comforted its guests in the same unique way as in the days of Sir William Ogilvy himself.
The highly acclaimed restaurant boasts an extensive a la carte menu offering traditional yet imaginative food using local fish, game and produce. The range of dishes reflects the inventive nature of our chef who changes the menu on a weekly and sometimes daily basis to reflect the seasons and the abundance of local produce available. The food will probably be the longest lingering memory of your visit and has earned a deserving feature in the Michelin guide. To complement your meal they have an extensive wine list featuring over 125 of the world's finest wines.
Location
Set on a hillside overlooking the Vale of Strathmore to the Sidlaw Hills beyond, lies the Lands of Loyal Hotel.
This impressive Victorian mansion was built in the 1830's, commissioned by Sir William Ogilvy, who on his return from Waterloo chose Loyal Hill as the site for this magnificent country house.
Accommodation
Lands of Loyal Hotel has fourteen guest bedrooms, each of which is individually and tastefully designed and comes with its own unique character and sense of style.
The high standard of comfort enjoyed by each room does not vary however, and each has an en suite bath or shower, satellite television, tea and coffee making facilities and private telephone.
They offer a choice of either single, twin, double or family rooms and can accommodate up to 32 guests at any one time.
